How to Use Unused Airline Credits with Routespring?

Routespring simplifies the process of managing and using your unused airline credits. If you've canceled a flight for any reason, Routespring ensures any applicable credit from that flight is applied automatically to your account. Here’s how the process works and how you can take advantage of this feature:

How Airline Credit Works in Routespring?

  1. Cancellation and Credit Application: When a flight is canceled, any applicable credit from that cancellation is automatically added to your Routespring account. This ensures the credit is ready for use on your next booking.
  2. Automatic Credit Application: When you're booking a flight with the same airline, Routespring automatically applies the credit to your new booking. You’ll see the updated net fare, reflecting the applied credit.

Step-by-Step Guide: Using Airline Credit

  1. Search for Flights: Begin by searching for your desired flight. For example, flights from Las Vegas to San Diego.
  2. View Credit Application: On the flight options page:
    1. If you have an airline credit, Routespring displays a note saying “Credit Applied” next to the relevant flight options.
    2. The net fare after applying the credit is shown.
    3. For example, if the credit amount exceeds the ticket price, the net fare may be $0.
    4. If you wish to see the gross fare, it is displayed at the bottom of the fare details.

  3. Compare Options: Flights with applied credits are clearly marked, making it easy to differentiate between flights where credits are available and those where they are not.
    1. For example below: Southwest Airlines: Credit Applied; Alaska Airlines: No Credit Applied

  4. Select Your Flight: Choose the flight with credit applied (if applicable) or any other flight based on your preference.
  5. Book Your Flight
    1. Proceed with the booking process as you normally would.
    2. Once your booking is confirmed, Routespring will use the credit for eligible flights.
    3. You’ll receive a confirmation email after the credit booking is successfully processed.

Notes
Important Notes
  • Credits are airline-specific. They can only be applied when booking with the same airline as the original canceled flight.
  • If the credit amount is higher than the ticket value, the remaining balance will remain in your account for future use.
